Review: Rapture by Lauren Kate

Rapture by Lauren Kate

The sky is dark with wings . . . .
Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.
Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.
For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they've borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.
In the fight for Luce, who will win?
The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.

My Review:

I have been dying to read this book since I finished Passion!  I have LOVED this series and am very sad to see the end!
We have followed Luce and Daniel and all of their friends and enemies throughout many trials and finally we get to see how their love story plays out...
I don't like to give spoilers in my reviews and although it will be hard to reign myself in, I am planning to stay true to that..
Rapture picks up basically where Passion left off.. Luce and Daniel are in a race with time to stop the second fall, if they don't it's basically over for all of them.  Of course, there are many who stand in their way..  They take off on a journey that takes them all over the world, enemies become friends and there are many surprises ahead for those of you who have yet to read this book!
We finally learn the secret that no one was able to tell Luce, the secret to her past.  I have to admit, I pretty much had this one figured out very early on, but it was still not disappointing to me.  I basically knew her "secret" a long time ago, but I'm glad I was right.. it made for a great story of love and sacrifice.
This book was a beautiful ending to the saga of Daniel and Luce's lives.  The only thing I was disappointed in was in the ending.  I loved the ending, but would loved to have had a bit more information about Luce's family, how certain things were played out.  I did, however, love the decisions that were made and I think we could stand for some more books about the lives of all the characters now.  I believe Lauren left it open for more stories, not necessarily on purpose, the ending is enough to stand on it's own, but I'm hoping that if enough of us ask her, she will do a follow-up, just so we can check in on them...  ;)

I gave this book a solid 4 stars, even though I was tempted to give it more...
